My car has started to overheat. I have drained my old coolant and replaced with fresh, Its not my thermo because the upper radiator pipe gets hot when the coolants starts flowing through.

Any other suggestions I need to fix it, hoping to DIY aswell?

Is your fan working?

Also. Your top hose will get hot 1st. Then once thermostat opens the bottom hose will get hot.

Haynes manual said the opposite which confused me, what ur saying makes more sense. Ill change the thermo and see if that was the problem

did you actually flush out your cooling system with a hose

if coolants mix they can give a funky result.
Usually best to flush with water at least 2 times to get any stuff out.

new thermostat is always a good investment

Nah, Just drained the old stuffed and replaced with new.

go buy some tectaloy coolant

drain your coolant , put a hose down the top until you can see clear water coming out the other end. supposed to used hot water but thats hard to do.

then fill your car up with new coolant adding as much as you need.

run the car allowing it to get hot and leave the heater on with windows down and undo your coolant bleed valve , i dont know were it is on honda b series probably same as others highest point of cooling system. ever so slightly open it and leave it open till air bubbles stop coming out and its just a constant run of coolant. you might have to repeat leaving the car on and shit

people do this with the car jacked up at the front, not sure why but

pretty sure this is correct procedure

My eg turbo overheated with original radiator so... Replaced it with a new oe honda item an it ran hot, replaced it with a aftermarket aluminium item an it runs fine now for some reason.

Just another theory for you to consider.

Cheers.
