Dc2r problem' hand brake light comes on

Hey people,

Just recently noticed my hand brake light coming on while im driving and turning off.. It seems to only do it when the engine is cold.. after its warmed up it goes away..

doesnt come on when I hit v-tec or anything..has anyone had this problem?? what does this mean??

car has done 92 000 and needs a major service soon, could this have anything to do with it..

low on brake fluid?

possibly not anything to do with the service could also be the brake fluid level switch, "attention brakes" light is a very very simply circuit. consists of the light in you dash, powered by the same supply as the rest of your cluster lights and grounded at the handbrake switch or your brake fluid resevoir cap/switch.

Check the fluid level first, if its ok check the switch/cap by manually operating it and checking the light. Perhaps unplug the cap to isolate the issue. If it is indeed your handbrake , centre console is to be removed and switch checked/tested/tweaked.
