Quick question

Just out of curiosity, can anyone hear intake noise coming from the left hand front wheel (the intake is in the wheel arch) when accellerating and then taken you foot right off the throttle? I can't say i heard if before up until now.

I also noticed when i hit VTEC i could really hear the growl from the intake, something i haven't heard before either.

The airfilter box looks fine so i don't know why the intake has become louder.

If its in the inner gaurd its normal. easier to get more air flow=more induction noise.

Could be a leak though if you have a standard airbox.

Ah, now I see. I was wondering what sound you were describing in your PM. The additional intake sound could probably be caused by the hotter weather, causing the engine sound to change. Another cause could be fuel of a different quality.

It's cold here now, same thing. I only use Mobil 98. Certainly sounds louder, especially under hard throttle.

It takes a few hours of driving for the ECU to readjust the fuel mix after the weather has gone cool. BTW, when I say cool, I mean 20-25 ºC. If you are above 30ºC, that's hot and the engine can sound different.

Have you also checked the air filter for any leaves or if it is very dirty?

Yes, it was very dirty and i replaced it yesterday. No different.
