My mate told me about this on youtube lastweek, thought i would share it with the ozhonda people since i've seen a few threads on which oil is best.

The tested oils are:

- Royal Purple
- Mobil 1
- Nulon
- Castrol Edge sport
- Motul 300v

All oils are 5w-30.

There's a few "theories" on why on some oils would make more power than others but you be the judge.

Here's the clips

Believe or not to believe... thats is the question.

The fan proximity argument does make sense for the turbocharged/IC'd engine

i'd seen this before from a different forum
yeah slightly rigged due to the different positions of the fan, which does make a difference on a dyno, all other things being the same.
Also i beleive in the 2 runs the nulon was the only one where the second run was better than the first.
All other oils had a small reduction in power which is normal for heat soaking, for the second run to be better there would have been a cooler run or something was adjusted.
But you decide for yourself.

Just rem those were Nulon sponsored.

Though i have used the Nulon oils they weren't bad, i found less burn than the castrol edge.

Actually all oils showed a lower output on the 2nd run except 2 cases.
Motul 8100 repeated it's 245.4kw output in the HSV & the Motul 300V got better on the 2nd run in the EVO. (169.4 then 174.7)
Pay attention Hao... :p

As for Nulon, regardless of what you think of those tests,
They've achived their aim. People are talking about the product.

My 5 cents...
The Nulon full synthetic oil is not a bad product & represents good value for a road car.
But IMO, for a track car, it's hard to go past either Motul 300V or ELF HTX

i saw this video last year, i since then changed from mobile 1 to nulon full synthetic 10w-40 oil to try it out myself. Used on road and on track. There is no power difference that i could detect with my dyno bum. I pay certain attention on track of my speed and rpm. Exactly the same.

Althou, protection i don't know about, nulon didn't give me any troubles and i think is a good product none the less. Its great value. Will still be using the stuff.
