That's ridiculous. Was just looking at some mint very low kay examples of Civic Type R's on carsales.com, for 30 big ones and only 2 years old. Ooooh, I want one.

If you look like a totaly newbie OR if it appears that you aren't keen to do a deal on the spot - of course dealers are going to give you a ridiculous price! This is what I am guessing happened to j219

If you walked in, knew what you wanted and (looked like you) were going to do a deal on the day - dealers are going to do all they can do give you a super deal that you can't refuse. This is what I am guessing happened to Mr Bob

No mate i've got 5k deposit on hand and no finance but the sales man do not want to deal on the price due to only one in stock:(

after sales man gave you the price, for my example, the price was 25xxx drive away without optional parts.
i asked sales man, can we make deal with 23k?
he said no, we only can do 24k...
i said ok, i want some optional parts, after that the price was 27xxx.
and i asked sales man 24k make deal?
he said he cant gave me this price, so i asked him talk to his manager, after that he give me 25k.
i said i need car, you wanna sale, we dont fighting, we make deal in the middle 24500, if you say no i will go to another dealer.
he still say no, i said ok, how about 24600 with full tank fuel, he said yes...
after that i paid 1k deposit.

1 month later, i went to showroom to pick up my car, he said i am a hard man, i dont care, because i got a car with a good deal...

Yea mate, i bought mine for $27,200 about 5mnths ago. And its due for its first 10k service next week.

Good car, cheap petrol. But yea i have to agree its really over priced, considering the VTi-S has not difference in performance wise comparing to the VTi.... :(

Yeah the VTi-S really is just body kit plus a few additionals. :honda: Honda Aust. should have given the Aussie consumer more bang for buck on this model.

I bought my 2009 VTIS Auto for 28,000 including:

Fog Lights, Floor Mats, and Reverse Sensors. I then took it to Roof Racks galore and got a deal on roof racks and a luggage carrier. I got mine from Southside Honda.

I wanted a VTI-s last year but they were about 28K auto.
They are advertising a special edition at the moment, saw it on tv the other night. Had blu-tooth as standard but not sure of the model

I think that is a little overpriced too. Fog lights, floor mat and reverse sensors won't cost alot.

I asked the dealer how much was the body pack to add to the VTI & they told me $2000.00 & the wheels the same. Dealer told me to go to bob jane & get the same wheels for $500.00

shop around and i believe you can get many other better and nicer 2nd hand cars at that price. European cars are known to have very high maintainence cost.

Doesn't sound like a bad price. GLi Vibe Manuals start at 19K so a VTi Vibe should be around that price. And yes.. without haggling.. the VTi-S is a ripoff!.. LOL

that's a good price, I think they gave me a rough price of 28K drive away without any extra's. Most honda yards had cars sitting there for 6 months + & they were giving good deals to clear them out.
Considering in june 09 they were offering free on roads costs 26K was a very good price. Most yards didn't have any VTI-s in stock.

sorry for bringing up an old thread but wow. reading the prices you paid for yours makes me cringe a bit. i bought my Vti-S as a demo with 900 k's on the clock and just carpets. Set me back 21k. Aug delivered 09 model.
