compliance plate crx

i just bought a 87 crx zc import. and its been on da road for da last 5 years without a compliance plate, under the 15year old rule, would i still need to get a compliance plate, or not, any help out dere

I have an 87 Civic import, and the dealer i bought it from said that it didn't need the plate, however when i moved to QLD, it needed a complience plate because 'the engine wasn't the same as the stock engine in Australia'.

However the place i got it done originally told me that it was impossible to register.

To get a straight answer, call up the RTA and let them know exactly how it is. From my experience they were very helpful.
