Sorry I couldnt find a specific answer on search..

But what are the key positive, negative differences between the 4th and 5th generation preludes?

4g has 4ws, looks better, sporty, cheaper, more mods available for it, 4 stud wheels
5g uhhhhhhhhhhhhh I got nothin hehe, I guess it's more luxury/cruisy, 5 stud wheels, newer, glass moonroof.

i got the 5g due to it having a more spacious interior...and it was a little more comfy to sit in imo...

personal choice really, i dont think there were anything overly negative about either gen.

Biggest downside to 4th gen is how hard vti-rs seem to be to come across. Beyond that I certainly think they're better looking. 5th gen is a great drive however

And this one... however, 'ATTS' doesnt specify whether its and S, SI or VTI-R.. can anyone tell by looking at it?

that 4th gen is an import, Si-Vtec not Vtir. no sunroof version which means no 4ws. Still good though as it has a bunch of other extra jdm goodies.

personally i would go the 1997 5g atts lude. good price for it too, even though the front lip looks as if it has a bit of damage. It has the OEM lip kit which is sort after by many 5g owners. oh and atts is a Vtir

ATTS means it's a VTi-R Model :)
And as Jspec mentioned, it's got the OEM lip kit (which is worth ~ $1000 if you bought if 2nd hand) and makes it look heaps nicer!
I would say since having such high KM's, just ensure the car has been serviced.

personally high kms aint that bad if its been serviced regularly. timing belt changes are added cost so if its roundabout the per 100,000 mark check to see if timing belts changed yet. if not, you'd have to factor that into your budget along with everything else

i took your advice and got them both down.. i can get the 99 VTIR with leather for prob 8k... but I also looked deep into the other one and I can get at max 7 -- except this one has a bit of paint off the front bumper and side skirt and some faded paint on the spoiler.. thoughts?..

your call dude. paint for each part would be about 300 give or take a little. so works out to be about the same. go for a test drive in them and see how they compare. get em checked out etc. nice prices though

unfortunately one is about an hour and a half away so i migh just settle with the closer, which has lower k's a better service history and new tyres.

The looks of either of them are completely personal and can change with mods.

I for one wouldnt be caught dead driving something as ugly as a 4th gen.
Gimme a 3rd or 5th gen any day.
