Hey all,

got a problem with my ride. Eh civic, got springs and shocks from honbits (pedders lowered) and put them in but it wasnt as low as i expected....... So backyard performance cut the springs to how i wanted it.. It sits 4 inches lower than standard in the rear but now i keep getting the tyre scrubbing and the shocks bottoming out over bumps.
What i dont understand is when i had the stock springs and a full car (which was as low as now) the car didnt bottom out at all and only scrubbed over massive dips in the road.

Anyhow...... Is there a cheap fix + keep it as low as now?

Cheers.

cheap fix? no
probably less bottoming out because there's less of the spring there and the condition of the shocks to begin with are unknown

no cheap fix. Save up 4 coilovers if u've got a good income.

cut springs + crap shockies = crap ride IMO.

interesting.... the cheapest "semi- half -decent" option is just to get king springs super lows or something if they make it for your car, and put them on your stock shocks.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

its obvious your seeking a quick fix yet initially you wanted to be lower, king springs is probably the cheapest way to go, and occasionally there are 2nd hand lowering springs here on ozh

even some good springs like tein s-techs or skunk2s arnt that much more than kings

hunt around on the trade forums here and you might get lucky

who knows what kind of hammering the shocks have had, and cut spings = damaged springs = crap ride
