Will removing the extractor cover from my car mean heaps of the hot air getting taken in via the air filter?

Will this decrese alot of power? Does the cover really hold in alot of the hot air?

sorry, im a little confused here. im not here to answer ur question, jus to clear it up as i myself dont quite get it. Are you talking about ur airbox cover? I thought ur extractor/header cover was that fat heat shield thing covering ur headers.... i dont see how that'd affect the quality of air going to your airfilter......
if you're infact referring to your AIRBOX cover, i found that after taking mine off for a day, i noticed a slight lag in performance.....
hope that helps.

not the airbox no....i dont know if Extractor Cover is the real name for it, but over the extractors in my Civic b16a is a metal cover covering the four pipes it has 3 or 4 bolts holding it in place!

if i remove that covering will it effect my car in any way?

its called heat shield, and its there for a reason  Honda engineers know their shit quite well. Only reason I see why you wouldnt run a heatshield was if you had aftermarket headers in which case you could use heat wrap to stop the heat from your headers elevating the heat inside your engine bay.
In short: DONT REMOVE IT unless you want a hotter engine bay!

apart from adding heat to your engine bay by removing it, will also cause your engine bay to look ugly :D

yeah it serves a purpose plus there's no point showing off that hektic rusty cast iron exhaust manifold unless you're a ricer trying to show people how dumb you actually are. you wont impress anybody by showwing off your stock header. if ou concerned with under-hood looks, polish or re-paint the stock heatshield.
