View Full Version : DC2R Thrust Shim part no
Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me the part number for the thrust shim pictured below? It's to suit the gearbox from a 99-01 DC2R

Honda wanted a VIN number to confirm the part which i don't have as i drive an EG.
Thanks

I dont know if you hav cracked the box and need that particular part, but i tried to get that part (rang them and gave them my vin number as i have a dc2r 99 build) and they said as far as the countershaft thrust shim is concerned, that it is not applicable for that gearbox. The part 19 above that "Collar, distance 3" which applies to my gearbox is HO-23914P80E30 i believe. Ill try and get the breakdown picture. Hope it might help.

Here is the break down - do you want part no 9??? I can get that for you. But it will most definutely have to come from overseas.
WOW.... that's a huge help.
In a nut shell i'm installing a 4.9FD into a B16A gearbox.
It required the DC2R countershaft and unfortunately the thrust shim is missing.
I'm just waiting to have it confirmed for me. But i'm fairly confident it's Part no 9 that I need.
If it is required, any ballpark idea on cost and timeframes on delivery?

HO-23921PK5900 "Washer A, 40x54x" and it is $15.50. Basically the size (inner diameter and outer diameter) stay the same, but you can get different part numbers that go from standard thickness to thicker and so on. This is obviously to combat wear in the box to keep the gear sets to tolerance specifications.
This will be an order in item or maybe even might be conselation parts (they will have to get it made from factory) but say 2 weeks at the most.
Also i think he said the standard thickness is 1.6mm.
Hope this all helps, you still may want to clarify all parts and numbers when it gets closer - i dont want to be the person that quotes you the wrong part number.

arent your 4.9 FD suppose to come with a countershaft?
and select FD kit that should be the one for B16a application?
maybe you can reuse your b16a distance collar+needle bearing+1st gear on the dc2r countershaft
BTW, arent 99-01 dc2r countershaft is 4.785 FD which wont fit any 4.9 FD ring gear?
EDIT:
JHMDC2310YS200XXX
XXX can be 001 to 999 depends on how many dc2r were sold in AU/my region, try something in 200s

If you use a DC2R countershaft that needs a distance collar you'll have issues with the 1st counter gear if your box is B16A.
B16A 1st counter gear internal diameter is 42mm, The DC2R 98+ is 47mm.
So for zero greif installation...
With std diff or aftermarket for B16A2 use B16A2 final drive set.
If you want to use an OEM LSD, use B16B/B18C final drive set.
& only use a B18C 98 spec final drive if you have a B18C 98 spec box
Hope that helps
Thanks guys.
I'm well confused.
I was assured it was an ATS 4.9 FD to suit a B16A non-lsd gearbox.
All the genuine Honda parts required were included with the sale.
Though i'm told i need the thrust shim from a DC2R box to make it work properly.
1.75mm in thickness.
I did buy the FD second hand so i'm assuming it was missing when i bought it.
Neesmo31: Just noticed you refer to both parts 9 and 19 in an earlier response. The part number you provided, is that for 19 ?

First number that was "collar..." was 19, and the 2nd one i quoted "washer A..." is the standard shim. I beleive it was 1.6mm from memory.
