Hey guys,
i did have a search i know there was a thread on here for the first timers but i couldent find it..
anyway i thought id take out my bagga with a couple other people just to put a time down to build on. the car nothing interesting just an eg hatch with an sirg b18c with a short ram intake that sucks the nice cold air out the back of the radiator and a 2.5 inch straight through header back exhaust on stock headers... not hoping for record breaking times im aiming for anywere in the 14s on my new 185/45/14 bob jane all rounders, but wont be dissapointed if i leave in the team 15..
just a couple questions about the place
Is their an air hose for the public to use? i wouldent like to drive on the highway with 20psi in the front tyres.
any fuel stations near by?
If you break something is there any onsite places that can offer services / tow trucks?
im going on a wednesday, is it realy busy? how many runs on average do people get in?
its my first time at anything like this so im no doubt going to make a fool of myself somewere but is there any tips for a first timer?
Any advice is awesome
cheers guys

# There is a servo 5min down the road(you will pass it on your way to willowbank) that has a tyre pump facility
# There is never a quiet time to go im afraid, best bet to get in as many runs you can is to be there right on opening..if not you will average around 4 runs any night.
# Regarding tow trucks if there's not one there an official can put you in touch with one.
#First time help-dont be eager to jump off the line as soon as the light goes green(your not racing in an event) take your time get a feel for how many revs you can use before breaking to much traction(on launch),if your comfortable with that try preloading(come up to the staging line..pull the hand brake up and feel the spot between your clutch and throttle where the clutch starts to engage, hold it there and wait for the green then drop your handbrake & feather/ride your clutch out without too much wheel spin, when you get good at it it should bring your 60ft times down on street tyres. After the launch just start snapping gears!!
Regarding rpm choice id probably start around the 2500-3000rpm mark for your launch(with tyre pressures droppped) And dont forget to warm them tyres up!!

ok guys, realy dissapointing night. i only have a cheap stock oem replacement clutch and it didnt even hold up the first run. no matter how easy i took it off the line it fried the clutch like crazy, and most the way down the track too. managed best time of 16.008 at 91mph with a 2.6 60 footer. i only did 4 runs because its a 4 and a half hour drive home for me and didnt want to do it with no clutch:P its cool though atleast i got my nerves out of the way and im looking into a clutch now will have to put my b20v build on hold for a litle :( and will be back out next time going for an easy 14 :P
but yes thanks for your guys advice

hey man good job..... next time hopefully elvin, vik patto and i will come down for some fun too... but sounds like benaraby could be a better choice as its just under a 3 hour drive as willow is over 4 for us.. the track is good too.. and you can get 5+ runs on a good night...but thats not to say theres not many cars there can be upward of 40+ cars and tnt is always run on a friday night with comp on sat...
