Does anybody have any recommendations on places that have a decent selection of wheels to fit the s2000? online or off line. Ive just started searching for some new rims for my car. Im thinking 18s or possibly 19s. But due to the fact their a staggared fit, the few shops Ive gone into havent had a very big selection of rims that will fit... and the selection they did have was pretty poor.

http://www.jdmconcept.com.au for Work Wheels and SSR. Both good value alternatives to Rays.

give On The Run motorsport a call. they can get you just about anything you want from japan and they are RAYS engineering official distributors. they located on westall road in springvale/westall area, victoria

If you go Rays my choice would be RE30s. But the budget of $2k is impossible for Rays.

Brand new maybe. But who buys wheels brand new, all the best ones are discontinued :p.

Mostly depends on what you intend to use your car for.... Do you intend to use it for for it was made for? or just cruise the streets?

I respect both sides of styling, but would recommend you buy some good quaility Japanese rims, that are wider and with a more aggressive offset, mated to some decent tyres and add camber, you'll end up with a half decent cornering machine. It's more enjoyable that way.

Usually anything 18" or larger will require guard rolling, unless the rims have a terrible offset. 2K will get you a primo 2nd hand jap rims and tyres (currently some in the trader section close to your budget). Whereas 2K will get you common chromies with poor tyres.

Ive found a few sets of 20"s that I really like. I just want these as street rims and then when I start taking it to the track I'll use my stock wheels for a while. the rims Ive found fit the car but their not a propper fit. as in their not a staggered fit with bigger wheels at the back. The guy at the tyre shop said it may change the way the car drives.

Has anybody here put non staggered 20s on their car and noticed much of a difference in the drive?

hey just letting you know again, don't get big chrome wheels

you would regret it as the performance of your car would suffer and toyota tarago's would overtake you on the highway.

To fit 20's you're going to need to roll guards and shit.

A lot of shops won't like doing this because our car is aluminum and the side wall of our guards is quite thin and easily warped / bent / paint cracked etc.

Do you have any idea what 20 inch anchors will do to your suspension and cv's. Not to mention the car will handle and perform like a pile of dog shit.

On the other hand it will certainly look the part over there in Broady. ;)

In the end its up to you... but think about it, there's a reason jockeys dont weigh 150kg

and the one main thing everyone fails to remember when you go two inches bigger than what was fitted on the car...... YOUR SPEEDO WILL BE OUT so you will have to get it re-calibrated lmao

everytime i see a S2000 with 20" rims i cringe...ruins a brilliant car...and only douche bags will reckon ur car looks fully sick. keep it sensible.

I've just bought a 2nd hand set of rims for mine. They are the standard honda ones, and as expected have a couple of small scratches and marks, but the plan is to get them fixed up, and get them "shadow chromed". my friend had that done on a mazda that he bought, and I think it'd suit the S2000. As well as that, sticking with the factory wheels is going to keep the car riding and handling properly on the road (I'm not going to be doing track days or anything).

As a personal opinion, I can't see anything over 18" being worth it, and even then, only if you are looking at some serious racing. Even with 18"s the sidewall of the tyres is getting pretty small, so going over a decent rock is going to break something. As has been said, the 20" rims that people put on the car are just silly.

Sif you wouldnt track your s2000 just because you have stockies on it lol. Get a decent set of super sticky tyres and you'll be right :P track it!

going over a rock with a 40 profile wont break stuff. unless that rock is the size of your rim of course
