View Full Version : D15B7 with D16A6 cam?

ok so i have been doing some reading around on the net and i see a post here and there that you can drop a D16A6 cam straight into a D15B7 as a small upgrade

does anyone have any more information on this ... because if it is that easy than im going to go hunt one down right now lol

wouldn't have thought you would get any of those engines in oz. being 1.6l might have slightly different cam duration but skeptical. IMO for the power gained not worth time and money spent. sorry man

and yes the engine isnt available in aus ... although i have already got offers to buy one in the states and its not gona cost much =)

The service manual has the cam lobe height listed as:

Intake: 36.603mm
Exhaust: 36.747mm

For the d16a6 and:

Intake: 36.957mm
Exhaust: 36.996mm

For the d15b7.

The service manual doesn't appear to list duration, though you can see from those figures that the b7 cam is incrementally larger.
