Hi guys,

http://firesport.com.au/02-honda-integra-dc5r-car-trading-point-sales--ad145985.htm

Saw this on carsales a few months back in qld, now the new owner is selling it in Vic...sounds strange to change hands so quick?...does anyone know the car's history and how reliable it is, maybe some of you guys have checked the car out before and can provide some ideas?

It has mostly all toda parts and reckons its a 13sec car?...I think its been abused too much if the new seller is selling it so quick?

Hopefully someone can shread some light so I can decide whether to go check it out as it's so far?

Be careful with this, I've had a very bad experience with that seller before so just make sure you tread lightly.

gearbox might be the problem. that stuff is expensive to fix, but if the car is legit not as expensive as the mods done.

maybe he thought it was a type r and the car is not a type r?

there's lots of reasons that he might be selling it, your best bet is:
check vin
check engine no
get one of those racv tests (don't know how useful it would be but it might give you some peace of mind)
drive it for yourself

can't think of anything else you could do at the moment. ask him how long he has had it and why he's selling. if you KNOW he's lying about how long he has had it, then there is almost DEFINATELY something up, it's just whether you can find it (and care about it).

dont speak so soon. I bought it for my gfs 21st. I gave her my ep3 instead.
Why car has been resprayed. Cause she wanted it purple.

Car has had no accident, comes with log books
I bet its better condition than most dc5's on this forum.

And no i didnt think it was a type R, i know its a type r
and i dont think its a 13 sec car, i know it is

Why im selling so quick, its not because its fkd, its because im getting over modded cars
and people that know me well enough, know that ive gone through 10+ cars alreayd

very bad experience? You got your $ back in 24 hrs

Try buying something and never getting anything nor the cash back

rofl ahahaha.

can you really blame him for asking for help when he's looking at something that seems too good to be true? the experience ive had with dc2rs, s2ks and dc5rs has made me skeptical of every single performance honda on carsales. case in point: you know that white dc5r that is all jdm up in queensland? well up until a week ago, that was advertised as authentic jdm import dc5r. the guy swore to me that it was authentic imported type r. it's a **cking base model audm black dc5 with all jdm parts and a respray. after i told him, he has since changed the description. hell, you bought the car recently (apparently), i'd be surprised if you weren't careful when you were buying it.

This one yea?
http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=8084169&__sid=11FB4C94EEAE&YearFromShort=1645&__Qpb=true&Cr=0&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_PriceSort_Decimal |1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&keywords=&__N=1216%201247%201282%201252%201246%204294965322% 204294965105%204294921591%20900%201622%201645&seot=1&__Nne=15&trecs=13&silo=1011

Howd you spot that? Did you go and check it out?
I was convinced actually. It looked legit online.
But yea I do remember about a week ago when it said "Authentic JDM DC5R"
F**kin Retard!

And to the OP, in regards to this one:
http://firesport.com.au/02-honda-integra-dc5r-car-trading-point-sales--ad145985.htm

I do remember this being advertised on ClubITR I think a while back by the previous owner?
Not too sure though.

If you're serious about the car, your best bet is to go carefully check it out yourself and take it for a drive. You'll find out alot more about it than most in this forum can offer you.
And obviously you should do the usual stuff (and as already mentioned):
Check Logs, VIN & Engine match with RTA/VicRoads, REVS, NRMA/RACV etc etc.

I reckon this ones good value:
http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=7993335&__sid=11FB4C94EEAE&YearFromShort=1645&__Qpb=true&Cr=9&__Ns=pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|0||pCar_RankSort_Int32 |1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&keywords=&__N=1216%201247%201282%201252%201246%204294965322% 204294965105%204294921591%20903%201622%201645&seot=1&__Nne=15&trecs=16&silo=1011

Decent price with decent mods. I think it used to belong to a member here and ClubITR.
Though it looks like someones put down a deposit.

that's my little bro's dc5 on firesport. i picked it up from the courier place in laverton. fastest NA car i've ever driven in my life. i'm trying to convince him not to sell it, but he's adamant about it and wants to get rid of it for something stock and family orientated. i was going to buy it off him in a year, but he wants to get rid of it now so bad luck for me :( whoever takes this will have a few mint, and very very quick dc5. toda power! good luck!

I remember this car when it was in Brisbane. Very nice... Actually has my old front bar (As it use to have a Ing kit on it). I know the previous owner in Bris looked after it (From what I'm told by a friend of his - Ricky)

When it was it Brisbane it was quiet quick, and in good condition.

I have had bad experience with this seller once before.
Hours of hassle and doesn't contact you back.
Number 1 tip is DONT buy from Newcomers.

Just be careful. best to check the car out in person.

Im only speaking on my history with the seller. Dont be haters

Yo said you left the muffler outside and someone stole it. Thats the story you gave me.....

Anyway im just going on my personal experiance that i had with you David.
If i was selling something and the sale fell through i would expect the buyer to warner other people of what happened.
