Check the fuel is ok, 2 months shouldnt be too bad anyways, give the engine a once over, nothing really to be concerned about though, its only been 2 months

What precautions did you take before you went on holidays?

Personally I would not let it sitting without starting for more than a couple of weeks.

Prime it a few times. Ignition on, off, on, off etc, before actually starting. You'll prol hear the fuel pump going.

if ya worried

disconnect main relay ( controls dizzy + fuel pump) and turn car over for a few seconds to circulate oil. Reconnect , make sure your battery is fully charged and simply start it. Should chug into life no worries.

turn the car over as in manually turn the crank bolt?
or start the car through ignition?

through the ignition, the purpose of this is to get the oil cranking throough the motor, building up oil pressure... but disconnecting the ignition and fuel systems you are not putting the motor "under it's on load"... rather just using the starter motor to turn it, as if you're manually turning it via the crank, albeit in a MUCH easier fashiong :-)

thanks for the explanation, it was rather stupid question anyway since ben said to unplug main relay. lol didnt think of that.

thats what we're all here for dude, to share knowledge!

another perhaps more laboursome way to do it is to remove your spark plugs, but then you still get feul id say

i've had to leave mine a few times for long periods.

The main relay trick is what i do the get the oil up into some moving parts but i don't think its really necessary, maybe after a long time (12 months or more).
