Hey Guys
as some of you know i am after a civic hatch auto & i came across this car details as follows:
Jap import,
1995 Civic
3 dr hatch
V Tech eng, 1.5L,
so my questions are what is the difference between the Jap v Aus car - i have tried to search on this with no success.
is the Jap car better then the Aus cars?
i am trying to get some more info on the car today which i will post once they are forwarded to me.
or am i better off buying a 97 EK simliar kms?
thanks guys
Its the same car but with a jap spec motor d15 something? They come with vtec 1.5l single cam
I know that aus versions of the 1.5l motor dont have vtec but the d16y1 found in the civic vti, these are 1.6l singlecam vtec.
Aus versions as follows 92-95 hatch
Breeze - 1.3l single carby
Gl - 1.5l twin carby
Gli - 1.5l efi motor
Si - 1.6l twin cam motor
Vti - 1.6l single cam with vtec
Imo your better of getting an ek then going through the hassle of importing or get a civic vti/si hatch, has a much better motor than the jap import one

That would be the JDM EG4?
90LAN will be able to give the best advice here.
If the car you speak of is already in the country then give it a good look over and if it checks out I can't see anything wrong with buying it.

thanks guys
the car is already in Aus & been driven around for a while.
& its a VTi jap spec car... so whats wrong with Jap engines i would have thought they would have been better then Aus delivered ones?
90LAN - you car to share your pearls of wisdom with me?

hahahah
jdm eg4 shares the same interior with the eg6
its doesnt have folding mirrors or white face cluster
it has no rear disc brakes but 262mm fronts
usually matching interior colour to paint
motor is 130hp form 1.5lts
very good for daily driving
be a nice car and more rare than any aus del ek
which u can buy any day of the week
it was the lower spec eg in japan
also there is a eg vti with a lower spec d15b motor too
similiar to out vei eg sedan
it had a 1.5 with less power for fuel economy
vtec-e or something like that on top off my head

D15 vtec would be pretty rare - apparently they are good fun but i dont think we got them over here
