Hey guys was just wondering about chipping my ecu

i plan to get a upgraded ecu later on down the track after i instal other mods maybe a kpro or hondata but for nowwww what are your thoughts on chipping a integra dc5r ecu?

What gains do you get and what exactly does chipping it do anyway?

Can you reset vtec rpm like a vtec control and do launch control and reset limiters and shit or nah?

how much does it cost and who does it around st george area?

(i searched before i wrote this)

Thanx

You can have it sent away to hondata to have it done, i did have the price but i cant remember any more i think around the 500 mark if i remember.
As far as gains, it really depends on whats been dont to your car and who tunes it. more then likely no 2 tuners will get the same exact tune

OMG.JAI xD

Tuning (in the form of injection and ignition timing via the ecu) has little difference tuner to tuner. That is if of course they are good at what they do.

Give the same ecu with the same engine. Good tuners should average out the same end result.

Only variant is the dyno, air temp and condition of the engine oil.

kpro is a hondata.
Chipping by that you mean, buying a chip that re flashes your ecu with a stored tune will gain very little. And can be very harmful to the engine.
Dont go abouts buying a pre tuned chip.

Buy an interceptor (piggyback) ecu or a stand alone ecu. Both have pretty much the same tuning capabilities, in terms of ignition and fuel.
Different ecu's have different setups, modes and tunes to make it more drivable.
