you mean recalibrate ur speedo?

it all depends on what size tyres you get as to how much of a difference in rolling diameter from stock it is.

if it isnt much from stock you wouldnt really need to.

when i had 17's on my car (204/40/r17 rubber) the rolling diameter was 18mm longer than oem honda, maximum you can go is 15mm over stock so i copped a 1point and $100 fine.
This was a while ago so the rules may/may not have changed

usually tyre sizes work like this.

for example, say if your standard tyres are 185/70/14. the first number goes up or down by 10, 2nd number down or down by 10, last number up or down by 1 depending on what size wheels your after. so say if you for 17 wheels, your tyre size should be approx. 215/40/17 as a rough example based on the example above of 185/70/14.

if you have trouble, just type in google - tyre calculator - and 1010tires.com have a tyre calculator that will help you determine what size tyre you need with your larger wheels to keep your speedo working accurately as if you were using your oem tyre size.

hope that helps!

Use the same 205/40 tyres on a wider rim. Ie, an 8" wide rim.
You will cause the tyre to stretch over the rim, further lowering your sidewall height.

Youll be able to acheive the same rolling diameter.
