TOKYO (Reuters) – Honda Motor Co (7267.T) said on Friday it would recall a total 646,000 units of the Fit/Jazz and City models globally, including 140,000 in the United States.
The recall covers the models sold in North America, South America, Europe, South Africa and Asia, but not Japan, a spokeswoman said.
The Fit is Honda's best-selling model in Japan.
Honda said the recall was to fix a defective master switch, which could cause water to enter the power window switch and in some cases cause a fire.
There were three reported cases of fires due to the defect, two in the United States and one in South Africa, the spokeswoman said.

The article is specific, stating sold in Asia. Hmm....we do fall under the Asia-Pacific banner..
Probably would affect us. Looks like the Honda service departments are going to be kept real busy!

I believe it's affecting 2002-2008 models.
Whis is essentially all the GD models, however it only affects certain markets, not all.
Just google it and you'll find a few articles.

you cant just go to HOnda Australia and show them a website/link. You have to wait till Honda Australia send out official letters to all those affected. Honda Aus arent great in the warranty and recall department, tending to deflect all 'defects' as chargeable fixes...
We had a recall on our accord in australia, 3 years after it was done in america, 9 years after the car was built.

every car has recalls, some small (as per above) and others larger; why complain? At least they acknowledge a defective item that MAY but highly unlikely, cause a fire and will replace for free even if the vehicle is out of warranty

This is the first I've heard of a toddler actually being killed as a result of the failed switch:
