I know a guy that won't shut up and wants to race me 1/4 mile.he has a xr6 turbo.I know he is quicker to 100, but would a jdm ep3 beat him 1/4 mile.I think he will but I wanna check with u guys what u think if anyone knows.

I've tried in my ITR...

You'll snap 1st and 2nd infront but after that it's all him in the turbo...
In my experience that is lol..

This was of course done off Road :)
No times though..

I'm sure a XR6T would do around the 13.5 sec mark (give or take).. the fastest time i've seen a Stock EP3R is about 14.4??

do u mean typoon or just the xr6t cause my mate is honestly a great driver and has got the best of a 13.9 which is wat ive pulled in my EP3

An XR6 turbo will smoke you brah, Sure its got the name ford, and we all know how much honda fan boys hate them but take a look inside that engine bay and see how big the turbo they have from factory, that'll give you a good enough idea if you'll win or lose. When we went to willowbank my mates DC5R was only running round the 15sec range, best he got was 14.9, mods were intake and catback only. And yes i'd have to say he's just your average race boy so nothing pro at all.

I would put money on the Ford, unless he has a heart attack halfway down the strip... even though I am on the Holden bench lol... driving a Honda.. err..

My dad drove a recent model XR6T and those things fly apparently, he's got a Holden S but isn't afraid to admit when something is better.

Remember that a Falcon/Commodore only weigh about half a ton more, but the engine is also more than twice as powerful... stock.

they're fast in a straight line, especially with basic mods, so damn easy to get power out of

Ive raced an XR6T before in my ep3 and my dc5

0-100km was pretty close after that its all over.

In my dc5 was a different story we only got to 100km though. And i was in the lead =)

Yeah but whats 100kms ? like 2nd gear going into 3rd ? try going in 4th, thats when most cars fall behind.

Thanks for all the information.I just picked up my car today :) after work.my dad drove it home then I insured it ,then went for a drive.
I was driving a vk commodore auto till today.so when I hit vtec on the freeway I nearly shit my pants,so I backed off.
And I change gear at about 3k is this ok to do for normal drivng? Cheers

i remember i raced one at wsid... and ive got coils, intake and clutch/fly combo... the first time i got him... the second time he must realised you should spool it up on the line for takeoff! This seemed like it had minor work to it... i think they ripped out the airbox or something while waiting for the next run (i watched them do it)... the next 3 times it beat my by half a second each time for mid-high 13's...

mind you we were neck and neck to 1/3 track then he was gone
