What you do to be on the safe side, reinstall the stock airbox (without the hoses..) after you install the CAI to make it look like you're running stock air intake..

nicely played? +1 rep to me ?

I dont think that'd be possible to install stock airbox over the CAI as the new intake tubes would be in the way

AFAIK theyre illegal like any pod unless it is 'inclosed', but no cop would be able to see the pod if its a CAI so thus you have nothing to worry bout

Its only illegal if you get caught! ahahah
just kidding

CAI is fine as long as the filter is enclosed,
though its probably best to check up with SA road laws...

Just have the pod down in your front guard where the resonator usually loops through into the wheel well area. That's "enclosed'' if you ask me, because you can't see or touch it at all.

the defect is called "exposed pod"

so if ur pod isnt exposed, its not a defect.

having a short ram is a defect

any aftermarket podfilter is illegal, even if its a injen style or a after market enclosed pod filter...take it from me because i got fined many times for that!

I got Injen CAI in my DC5S.. You can install the box back easy.. without the hose of course..

OP, as I said before.. install CAI, then put the box back where it was, it'll look like you're running stock intake.. No one is gonna chase tubes and hoses once they see a huge stock air box under your bonnet..

This is my solution, no one has ever picked it. Sounds great and performs very well. Setup is about 4 years old now and no problems.

depends what state you in.

in qld we can expose pods as long as its not flopping around
