hey people,

well as the title suggests, just wondering if anyone has purchased and is using these items? does it make much difference. What sort of quality are they and how hard are they to fit?

people say ebay ones tend to brake/bend/crack and etc. Might as well buy a skunk 2 one

personally i cant speak for this brand, but for the expense of $20 odd it cant hurt to experiment.

if you go with this set up, i would recomend you invest in a well weighted gear knob, that will make all the difference in your throw

to fit the short shifter its not a 5 min job, providing you have an idea on how to fit it you'll be right...

if you're planning to get it with a weighted shift knob, weksos sells them in a combo with skunk2 shift knob, short shifter and CTR shift boot at about $220AUD shipped i think..its cheaper than getting it here.

Aluminium / Alloy shifters tend to break - especially when you're tracking - I've seen a couple do that.

We make ours from carbon steel, and is weighted to provide exceptional feel. Additionally, we also use sealed ball bearings where it connects to the rod instead of just orings. :-p

Sure, it costs more than an Ally one but then, the saying is, you get what you pay for.

thats nice, but not sure many people would like the height in a street only car, also the price is quite high considering you then have to buy shift knob too.

If i was going to track the car often i wouldnt buy anything but the fastline one.

+1 for MFactory, very good fitment, height, feel and it's a very sturdy design

what I would strongly recommend is buying new shifter bushings as mine were catus at 200,000 odd kms

sounds good to me. planning to buy some other goodies off E240 so maybe I'll have to add shifter, gear knob and bushings to the pile. :-)

tell me about it, I'm always working on ways to mod the b4, gets much better ks than the s13 will ever doing the same driving conditions (know anyone with a 6spd box they don't need anymore they'd like to sell?) lol

OT: you wont be disappoint in the MFactory parts, I have a majority of their stock on my car, couldn't talk it up more, very awesome parts :)

tried to install mine today, dont think its the right one?? for somereason everything fits towards the end where the end of the shifter connects into the link..full touches my exhaust..making it impossible to shift!.. so i compare my oem to the short shift..after the ball on the shifters...the aftermarket one is slightly longer!

flipfire
06-02-2010, 11:36 PM
Do you have an aftermarket exhaust?

The ball pivot point on short shifters are located higher than stock making the bottom bit longer.

Its shorter on top and longer on the bottom. Thats what makes the shifting shorter.

Yes i got a twin loop 2.25 from top, ahhh wat a waste of time took it all off jnstall then find it to touch the exhaust wont shift then install the oem back forgot to put two rubber o ring in the bottom of the shifter to link now abit loose as in freeplay
