awesome, 16 minute bump

first things first use the tire calculator (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html)
and whether it scrubs or not depends on your height, width of rim and offset

what width rims?

stock height is heaps tall, just about anything will fit as long as you don't bottom out the suspension
205/55 will throw your speedo out of whack though

16x7 +32 205/55/16 should be fine
it'll probably look a bit weird though

Strange.. I thought stock tire is 195/55R15. If you go to 205/55R16 your speedo meter will be out of whack.
Use this calculator:

What do you guys mean by speedo going out of whack?

the rolling diameter of the wheels will be different, so say your speedo is showing 100 kph your probably be doing less or more than that.

use the tire calculator mate, its got all the info you need....

nah 205/55/16 rubs hard even on stock height

the largest u can get is 205/50/16 on ek4

tyre 101 - the first width is in MM, the second is a % of the width & the last is size of rim.

Therefore a 185 @ 60% + 14" rim size is much less than a 205 @ 60% + 16" rim size.

stock tyre is 195/55/15, in a 16" closest is 205/45/16

would it be fine if i put the 205/55-16 on the back and put the 205/50-16's on the front?

dude i have 40 profile at that size and they fit.... mines lowered also... 50 profile aint much more
maybe go for 15inch rim or just get 40 profile

use to scrub dont anymore and im 100mm exactly. to the subframe and like 55mm to the cat

would it be fine if i put the 205/55-16 on the back and put the 205/50-16's on the front?

No, i believe thats illegal because they are different size...

195/50/15 is perfect mate. I just got new Civic rims with stock suspension and no rubbing at all.

Any lower than a 50 profile and the ride will start to get a bit harsh and you'll just get sick of it. This size is a performance/comfort compromise
