You can ride it here, or organise transport for a couple of hundred - depending where its coming from

Rego Options:

1 - If it IS registered in another state, legally you can bring it here, and ride it as well, but cant re-register it if you reside in NSW. Easy fix, de-register it here and hand in plates to the RTA - you will get refunded the remaining time left on the registration and then you can re-register in your name after an inspection.

2 - If the bike hasnt had rego for over 3 months, you will need the last registration certificate showing the name of the person you are buying the bike from.

3 - If the bike hasnt had rego under the sellers name, proof of transfer from the previous REGISTERED owner needs to be given. If the person you are buying from cant provide this paperwork with that vehicle they are selling, then forget about it, its likely they are selling it because the same thing has happened to them and they cant register in their state. If they can provide the previous registration cert which was from a previous owner, you will also need to get from them paperwork showing a written exchange from the person they bought it from to go with the paperwork...
