Cat Back Exhaust

Before u make any assumptions..... Ive searched...
n e ways, hi :wave:

i got 2 Q's

1. What is the benifits of having a stainless steel exhaust (mainly cat back) over mild steel one.... whats the stock one??

2. I got quoted $200 (mild steel) for cat back (special autosalon price) BYO muffler at livo exhaust. From what ive read (in my search) this sound pretty good. Does n e one know of any better??

yr main concern if the pipes are crush bent or mandrel bent

What Tanghy said plus you get what you pay for... $200 aint much...

the stainless steel pipe will last much longer then the mild steel too
mild steel prone to rust

Does this 200 include a resonator? and like tanghy and toda au said, is it mandrel or crush bent..

Im not sure how many bends you got quoted, but Mandrel elbows (90 degree bends) are about $30 each! if your goin an overaxel setup, theres probably about 3 mandrels, so thats already $90!
I wouldn't pay anything more than $200 for a custom mild steel catback (with no reso).. ive seen cheaper deals...even with mandrel

Just wondering those guys that have done custom catbacks using mandrel bends, how many did you use?
Watching my friends GSR get his catbck done, the exhuast guy cut the mandrels in 1/2, making 2 x 45 degree bends, to save money and increase flow so he only needed 2 i think in the end..
Can this be done with EG civics? anyone whos gone the mandrell custom catback, plz lemme know

my brother had a cat back 2.25in mandrel bend stainless steel(?) exhaust for 320 about 4 years back?
i have no idea if thats expensive or not...

dunno if this helps but ....i got quoted around 350 for hi flow cat, resonator and 2.25 inch piping and installing my headers and cannon

damn...i got a quote for $400 which only includes 2.5 inch cat back with a ressie and a xforce cannon muffler...am i getting jipped??? ;(

if the $400 includes everything you've mentioned, then no that sounds like a fair deal, but mate, 2.5" are you crazy? 2.25" no higher mate... my 2c

hmmm. i got quoted $600 for a full 3", straight through, mandrel bent exhaust including muffler (for when i boost it). that sounds pretty reasonable compared to what i've read

yeah mate everything that i mentioned and plus all the bends are mendrel. I was thinking of 2.25in but then my other mate just got a 2.5 on a CRX (B16A) engine and the car went really well...mad top end and mid was not too bad either...so thats why i am opting for the 2.5in. (i know there are some ppl on the forum that choose a 2.5in for B16a and they feedback was good....maybe im taking a gamble.?? hope i make the right decision...;)
