Hey guys,
I know there is already a few threeads on this, but I'm finding it a bit confusing. I got a clarion 4 channel amp and i some aftermarket 6x9s and splits for my Euro. I have already bought a LOC( Line out convertor) from ebay-
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RCA-Car-4-Cha...item3ef57f40d0

I'm planning to amp all four speakers.
Heres what i think i have to do so far.
1. Run a power cable to the AMP with fuse
2. Run a ground from the AMP
3.Trace the speaker wires back to the head deck
4. Hook them up accordingly + & - to the LOC ( btw anyone got the wire colour codes for the Euro)
5. Run the RCA's from the back of the LOC to the AMP
6. Run the new speakers via new wires the the + & - ports of the AMP

Now heres where I am confused. This particular LOC has a ground, power, and remote wire. So i am guessing ground goes straight to chassis located somehwere near where i place the LOC. Then remote wire goes to the remote port in the amp( although have heard somethings about connecting it to acc wire or cig lighter???). Then theres the last wire, the power wire from the LOC, where does this go? to the battery with a fuse of to the amp or ????
thanks guys
Marc

hey buddy how are ya.

Yes it does goto the battery, i wouldn't put a fuse for it though, i dout it would need it. In my opinion just squish it in there or buy those special fuses that convert 1 power input to 2 power outputs with 2 fuses inside them not sure bout the exact name.
but yeh just trying to save u from going through a hole mission to run an extra power cable.

or better yet ..you could just run it off the amp (put a power cable between the amps existing power cable and just chuck it on there).

Safe option:
run a new power just as u have with the amp.

Hey mate before you do anything, please pop open your bonnet and take out the wire from negative terminal of the battery, then connect it after you've done all your wiring, this is for safety reasons. Anyway this is what i think you should do:

Connect the power of the amp to the positive terminal of the battery with a fuse of course :)
Hook the LOC's power to the positive terminal of the battery, i dont think a fuse would be necessary here.
Connect the LOC and the Amp's ground cable to the chassis of the car, make sure there is no paint covering that point otherwise it will not conduct electricity.
Connec the LOC's remote to the amp's remote. This is because when the LOC receives a signal from the headunit, it will basically "turn on" the amp via the remote wiring. And of course this would mean that the amplifier would only turn on if the headunit was turned on :)
Connect the RCA's from the LOC to the AMP, then connect the speakers you want to amplify to the amp, like you've mentioned above.

Do not connect the remote wire to the cig lighter because that is like 12V's, the remote only needs about 0.3v-1v i think because its basically just a 'switch on' signal, something like 12v may damage your amp. I'll try to find you the wiring code for the stock euro head unit.
