Anyone know the cause .. it started by turning on randomly .. then happend more often and now its permanatly on (except when cars off).

check the connector at the base of the handbrake, as it may have come loose over time.

i have the exact same problem in my prelude. but as well as handbreak it has the light saying my reverse light isnt working as well. its been like this for years ive just gotten used to it

also check your BRAKE FLUID LEVEL.

Your handbrake light will also come on when your brake fluid is low as a warning indicator.

Listen to the man....

if the front and rear brake pads are REALLY worn ( thin) then the fluid level would drop , setting this sensor off. It make sense :)

brakes =/= pads.

also check your BRAKE FLUID LEVEL.

And/or the wire/connection that goes to your brake master cylinder resevoir cap. :thumbsup:

also if ur fluid is black and has lost its viscosity as a fluid it may not read as havin fluid if the above ppl hav said does work

Turns out it was a combo of things .. low fluid level - didnt fix .. checked all fuses in car and engine bay .. turns out the ECU backup fuse was blown somehow ..
