Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone in Melbourne knows where I can go and get my car weighed? I'm kind of curious as to know how much it weighs. I've heard and read too many different responses, I would like to go and get it checked out for myself.

Thanks for any help!

On the border of NSW and QLD there is a 'Heavy vehicles weighing station' on the motorway,I drive past it everyday.

There should be the same there.

I WILL pop in there one day and get it weighed (if they let me) :)

Professional suspension and steering workshops will give you the best readings. I got my car corner weighted at Heasmans/Bilstein in Sydney.

Here in QLD there are "waste transfer" stations, some of which are classed as commercial and have a weighbridge. For a small fee they will print out a weight receipt for you.

Beeza that's where you'll need to go. There's one at Burleigh, we used to weigh 5th wheelers there (a previous job).

Go to any waste management center. We weighed a car at the waste center on the corner of Clayton rd and Ryans rd. Cost can vary, but should be under $10 or if the lady in the booth is nice, she'll do it for free.

I weighed mine at a Recycled Waste station. Was prepared to pay but because I didn't care for a printout the lady let us weigh for free.

Bathroom scales won't work unless you can find some which measure over 300kg (most max out at 150kg).

Don't waste your time with anything but proper corner weight scales. This will give you more valuable information that you can use to set up your car especially if you have coilovers. Weighbridges are good for general weight but as has been suggested, this information is provided by the manufacturer and is on your rego papers (at least here in NSW).

we do have it on our rego sticker, the porblem is that its so so so inaccurate, my mate has a vt commodore(the fattest ugliest cars of all time) and his sticker says 1100 tare, which is absolute crap because my honda says 1050 tare, and i highly doubt a brick car like that commodore would only weight more than a two door integra.

Our vicroads don't care about that stuff, there only focus for the past 5 years is to give p platers the hardest time of there life and to make them hate life.
instead of doing things they should be doing like getting correct vehicle infomation and giving you registration details when asked.
its such crap

if you just wanna know it out of curiosities sake and not for hardcore uber racetrack prepping, just go to your local rubbish tip, they will generally all have weighbridges for the trucks. alot of them have a display so just drive on it and look at the display then leave

usually at the tip they have weight bridges, i have been there once and asked them to see how much the car weighs then i just minused the weight of my self and passenger, it didnt seem to bother the staff.
