hey guys,

when i recently took one of my coilovers to get rebuilt we realised that my rear trailing arm bushes are worn.

ive purchased the bushes from fulrum with the aim of installing it with a friend. i did abit of research and found out its abit tricky without this tool.

i called up for a quote and quoted around the 300-400 dollar mark.

which brings me back to option 1- installing it ourselves with the right tool.

so my questions are

does all that sound correct?

and does any one here have that tool? and would it be possible to borrow it. ill pay off course and return it back the way i got.

thanks guys

FYI the link of this tool

if you can be bothered taking out the entire trailing arm you can bash it out/in with a hammer

or if you have a shop press that'll do, i did mine using a press last time and i just did it slowly since i didn't have anything big enough to do it all at once

I've done it 3 times now with a mallet. Not at all tricky. Takes about 30 seconds per side once the arms are off. Budget ~2 hours if you're reasonably efficient.

last car i had i used a blow torch cos they seem seized in there. :)
I dun have a press that's why.

But i need to redo my car now so i'm taking it to a mechanics, cos i'm getting old and lazy

Maybe you were hitting them the wrong way? They're slightly tapered. Bashing them out was super easy, took 4 hits max. Hitting them in takes longer and you need a suitable driver (read: hard).

i had mine on the EM1 done by Honda, paid about $300

Two reasons for going to Honda

1. Im lazy and I know a Honda service manager really well
2. If something fuks up I have a leg to stand on can take my car back to them

i actually ran out time on saturday to do it.
