DVD Player switch

Hey guys, im going to install a dvd player head unit very soon. I want to install that switch that can make the movies run while the car is moving, and also on, only when the hand brake is pulled up, does someone mind telling me what parts are needed, and instructions if possible?

All you need is a switch and a ring terminal, what you do is you earth out one side of the wire run it to the switch and from the switch to your handbrake wire on your dvd player

I Just Reread your post and realised i didnt read it properly the way that i told you to do will make you be able to watch your dvd player only thru the switch so if the switch is on your dvd video will be on, if its off you dvd video will be off. But Ill still tell you how to do it.
The switch you will need will be like a two poisition switch(on & off style)
Step 1. Work out where you want to mount the switch
Step 2. Wire up one of your wires to one side of the switch then wire the other end of that wire to earth ( screw it to the chassis of the car anything metal really but make sure its going to the chassis in some way )
Step 3. Wire up the other side of the switch and then join the end of that wire to your Handbrake Wire on you Headunit.

With the provided wiring diagram with the headunit. Find the parking brake wire and wire it directly to ground. You dont need a switch.

lol?? Yeh i know... But its also illegal, thats why i want the swoitch

you'll actually need a 3 position switch, put the hand brake wire on one side, then a wire going to earth on one of the other switch positions, this will be so you can watch movies while driving, then on the other switch position will be the one going to handbrake, if you do it the way the other bloke said with a 2 position switch it will still work with the handbrake down if you flip the switch cos its earthed out before the handbrake still

yeah, i been told there was a 3 way switch needed. so is it liked this:

i: dvd works no matter what

ii: dvd works only when hand brake is pulled up

Just do it, wire it to earth. (your chassis or the existing earth wire that goes to your deck)
