im not sure if this qeustion is relevant for this section.

but i just purchased a spit fire 5"tacho and was wondering if n e one can give me some guidence on how to install it. the intructions dont make much sence.

i have a 99 civic cxi if that helps??

the important part of the link is to locate the BLUE wire within your engine bay. This blue wire contains the signal of how fast the engine is running. The blue wire of concern is located near your driver side engine mount. It has a rubber cap covering the plug that is attached at the end of this blue wire. the pic of the blue wire is in this link

You have to splice into this blue wire. Once you have done this, u just got to find the wires for +, -, and dash light. these wires can be found in the wires behind the radio.

dont like tacho just a lil shift light an thats all tacho to big! its like a size off a big whopper

That would of helped me heaps, but im getting the mechanic accross the road from my work to do it for free. thanks anyways. :thumbsup:

anyone know if its possible wire a tacho's light in the way that it comes on when vtec is engaged e.g works a bit like a vtec indicator, i know you can get vtec indicators but they are over priced, over $200

would my civic hatch EG have that blue wire you're talking about?

the blue wire should be on all EG's.
