I am in Sydney. I intend to buy one new 2010 CR-V. Just wondering how much shall be my reasonable offer. Spec is as below:

2010 CR-V Standard Auto
+ Active Pack Accessories
+ Tow bar
+ Fog light
+ Rear park assist
+ Spoiler
+ 4 Alloys
+ Extended warranty (total 5 years)

I think the drive away price (without accessories) would be about 36,500 + accessories price about 7000.

From where I shall start bargain? Any suggestion based on past experience will be appreciated.

That's quite expensive for accessories. You can do some research on the net which accessories you can buy separately. For example Honda charge >$500 for parking sensor where you can buy from ebay & ask someone to install it for <$100-$150.

do you know what's the difference of 2010 CRV and previous model? i wonder what's the difference since hearing ads in radio saying 2010 CRV more fun to drive..

1.Different front & rear bumper bars

2.Different radio layout

3. wider armrest

4.different foggies

5.better suspension setup, increase caster by 5 degrees

Bought my 2010 CR-V Base Model (auto) last week for 39K. Options included:
Floor mats, Chrome door visor, Illuminated door sill trim set, 2 x cargo shelves, Tow bar, Bonnet protector, Headlight protector, Luggage area tray, Rear park sensor, Rear spoiler, Fog lights, 5 x alloy wheels, Window tinting, Extended warranty.

Probably I paid little more, but that's it. Would have got sports for additional 3.5K, but opted against it.

Hi all,

This is my first post :)

Just bought my 2010 CRV black Luxury for $44500 drive away, still waiting for delivery. I think I did okay.......I hope I hope.
The initial price he showed me was about $48.5k drive away, and I nego down this the above price with the below included.
The best time to buy a car is either Wednesday night or Sat close to noon, dealers to close the deal and go home or lunch. :P

Dealer included the below options and accessories, all genuine:
- DVD player
- Carbon Fiber dash trim
- floor mats
- boot tray
- lid up door sills
- chrome exhaust tip
- Honda umbrellas
- Honda cooler bags
- an Asimo soft toy

BUT they trade-in my 2001 Volvo S40 T4 for only $4.5K (done close to 120k km on it)

$34k for a standard auto, floor mat, boot lid cover, reverse sensor and 3 yrs extra dealer warranty which i think that's pretty standard nowadays

Think that's why were so easy giving you that price.

I got similar value accessories for 1k less than you, and that's with pulling a few strings.

expensive accessories I got were tow bar, side steps, bluetooth

It seems to me that new vehicles are somewhat overpriced in OZ, would that be due to higher taxes or currency value ?

Fwiw, i bought my CR-V AWD brand new from the Honda dealer and fully loaded for 25.4K, that was in 2007.
It,s now going on close to 50K miles and no probelmos mi amigos, this is probably the best vehicle that i've ever owned in terms of reliability, and it's fun to drive.

@#$%!!! I knew I should have pursued my bargaining with Rick.

I ended up getting an Urban Titanium Lux with just the custom mats for 41k from Larke Hosk in Homebush.

Brand new not ex-demo. Rick won't go below 42k but is willing to if I get an ex-demo.

Picked up yesterday but signed and deposited last week before seeing the 40500 post! A bit too late! @#$%!!!

haha... well until my next purchase... Happy Holidays to all!

Congratulations!

I personally think anything between 40 - 41K is a good price.

I initially went to homebush Honda and i was not getting anywhere near my price, plus they did not have any luxury on display. so drove to Rick, boy they had about 6 cars on display.

much better customer service and very professional.

Enjoy your car i'm sure you gonna love it. Merry Xmas all. Drive safe ( gad daym double demrits coming up).

Since now it's 2011, has anyone got the CRV 2010 plate at this price?

Now Honda is having a special with 5 years warranty. For Lux/Sport, it also includes $2500 worth of extra pack. So, question is, has anyone scored a deal at $40-41k this month with the extras + the 5 years warranty. Please leave some feedback.

My parents bought a CRV base model Auto about 3-4 months back. 2010 model for $33,000 driveaway.

Got the following.
- Mats
- Front / Rear sensors with distance display inside cabin (just for front)
- Rear folding tray
- Ugly looking alloys that look like hubcaps.

It's a shame the extra's does not inculde modulo front and rear bumpers.

Done deal!! Price accepted was around the $41k with the bonus + extra warranty from Honda. Not sure how much exactly we ended up with as there was trade in involved, but reckon I got screwed with the trade in price, but couldn't be bothered selling it myself (probably 3-4k under selling it privately or 1-2k below red book trade in price). Can't wait to pick up the car :D

Got the black. Although silver would look really cool with the side step and roof rack on. The dealer tried to sell me paint protection and leather protection. Luckily after searching the forum it's not worth it afterall. Though they were willing to take almost half the original rrp off.

Nice! i have the black as well, only issue is maintaining it :-). I took the leather.Paint and Nature protection only because it's black, plus i've seen what bird shyt can do to the paint :-)

Sorry for the off topic, does anyone know if the mugen bodykit will fit 2010 model?

What do you think about the paint protection? Is it easily washed off and no need to wax like what the dealer said? After just less than a week my car is so dusty, I'm afraid to take the car for its first wash at the local carwash as they might leave markssss. Now I have second thought about getting the paint protection done. I have been quoted $495 from some detailer using toughseal product. Now I'm wondering if I should do it.. Would love some recommendation really.....

I think it's great, few months back, i had to wash off some bird shit fom the bonet and did not leave any marks. plus anything happens to the paint, i'm sure to take it back to the dealer simple as that because it's under warrenty :-). I know what you mean about getting dusty ect, but whatever you do, please dont go to car wash unless they hand washed it. you should wash it at home and save that $25-$30.

Bottom line is black cars need alot of TLC lol.
