You are looking at big bucks for a K series conversion to your car. Ive had an engine conversion on my DC5 and DC2 and below are prices on required parts that I have encountered.
Engine mounts : $800
Headers : $1000
Cat Back Exhaust : $1000 - $2000
Radiator : $400
ECU + Hondata : $1500
Type R Gearbox : $2500
DC5 Gear selector & cables : $300
Clutch : $600 - $1000
Fuel Pump : $200
Drive Shafts : $400
Wiring Harness to suit car : $300
Intake Manifold : $300 - $500
Installation : $3000 - $4000
Depending on what other parts are missing from the engine will add further $$$ to the above cost, not to mention bits and pieces which also adds up in the long run. All can be done cheaper by purchasing second hand parts but generally you are looking at around $12,000 - $15,000.
Goodluck!

Wow 4g for installation? Im sure with a bit of digging around u could get a few of those parts cheaper.

Reputable mechanics charge around that price mark. Im sure everything can be obtained cheaper if bought second hand but it is better to overshoot the budget than realise that you dont have sufficient funds to complete the conversion.

damns thats a fair bit lol

more than what i expected then. i guess i rather buy complete pachkage and install it from a mechanic mate. installed and fully tuned for under 12k, i guess he did gave me a good deal.

$12,000 is not a bad price for all supplied, fully fitted, tuned and complete!
Just bare in mind that it is a lot of work and is a lenghty process. Not that im taking a stab at your mate but just consider that if the conversion is done at a part time basis; be prepared to have your car out of commission for a while.

yes it will take time and will be out of commission for a while as you said. i did a b20 a it took 6months to get to properly tuned plus to get it all motor built. it sad the fact im up north and will cost me around 15,000 for the whole tuned and installation plus transport.

thats why sometimes its better to buy one thats already built...let someone else worry about the headaches. But then again where is the fun in that aye...?

true buying one thats already been done is no fun plus ya have no clue whats been done to it to be able to maintain it properly.

Building one from scratch gives you an idea and experince, also you have a better undertsanding of whats been modded to the motor plus ya know how to maintain it and know what is FKD when its FKD.

like i bought a b16b stroke 1.8ltr i have no idea what went wrong when it stop running. didn't know what went wrong. wasted 6.5k for no reason. engine ceased in 5hrs when i got it back.

wow $6.5K!?
What was wrong with it?
Are you saying you spent all that money only to cease 5 hours after getting fixed?

yup, 6.5k for 5hours fund drive. i was pissed when it ceased. me and my cousin we were doing mountain runs and when i heard a knocking sound thats when i lost power and after oil spilled everywhere.

i could of just went b18c7, it would of run better and no problem.

Bad luck man.. that would suck.. I wont be seeing 6.5k anytime soon lol..'

If I was you id take action on the guy who flogged you off a near-ceased engine

Then again he can just say you ****ed it not him

yeah i did go back and ask him to rebuild it for free but he said i F it up and his not going to rebuild it. I was pissed but what can i say nothing.

Oh well it dosent matter i just build another one. Atm im selling my car but if its not sold, imma be getting a k20a fullly turbo spec all motor. i want it to runs low 11's the most. still crazy that i am. haha

So what caused for the engine to cease?
Did you do another rebuild or is that why you are looking at K series swap?

what caused it to ceased was a loose bolt in the head somewhere. im not too sure plus not enough engine oil aswell. yes im looking at another rebuild, i went to a b20b not enough for me, i want more torque so ima go k-series turbo all motor. but that depends in a couples of times from now.

I will be posting the specs and photos of the car once it done.

If i knew what really went wrong it would be great but nope, when the engine ceased there was big knocking noise from the piston hitting the head badly.
