Ive got my dc2r with dc5r wheels and running a 205/50/16 series tyre (got these tyres before the coils) Ive now fitted coilovers and have dropped the car about an inch all round. I have two scenarios below which will help me to lower the car another half inch.

Should I keep the dc5r wheels and change to a lower profile eg. 45 or 40?
Or should I ditch the wheels and get original dc2r wheels?

These are my options at the moment so keep these in mind when making suggestions

i think the height will stay the same? if anything if u get a lower profile it might make it look higher? as the wheels will look smaller

at the moment i cant go any lower because the tyres hit the guards when turning. So my choices are:

keep wheels but get a lower profile (is the offset on these wheels ok to clear) and lower the car or get the stock rims put a low profile and lower.

does anyone have any pictures of a dc2r with dc5r rims and dumped?

Sorry to bump an old thread. As mentioned earlier, I have a dc2r with dc5r wheels and need some help with tyres. I finally found some pics of the look I am going for. Does anyone know what these tyres are?

my god that's a clean looking dc2r

have you spoken to anyone not on the forums? cos i would say go to a shop (tyre shop, mechanic who knows a lot (there's a few o fthem lol)) and ask, because it looks like it's just what you said - low profile tyres.

So I assume you are not rubbing the guards at all? Even at full lock?

With the lowering springs how much lower is the car from stock?

Do you think I would be better off with a 205/40 tyre?

Dude, I believe we've had this discussion before. 215/40/16. I even offered to sell you some but you declined

nahh no rubbing at all even at full lock ....
im not 100% sure how much its droped coz it was done almost 2 yrs ago i think it was like an inch at the front and an inch and a half on the back... but dont quote me on that coz as i said im not 100% sure.....
and id do what pure_NA said just go to a tire shop and get them to help you on ur issues ... theyd probably be the most help....

and im running mine on 205/45 R 16 tires and they seem to be working well on my car....

yeah but I'm trying to find out what tyres the white dc2r above has. also keen to hear others thoughts and experiences before I buy tyres.....

would it be stupid to put 205/40 on the front and 215/40 on the rear? Or is it better to get the same all round? 205 or 215 all round?

teggiboy

Get the same profile all around man.... why would you want a lower profile in the front anyway? 215/40/16 is perfect. No rubbing issues even on full lock and it looks perfect. Plus u have coilovers, so u can adjust the height accordingly

Nah I asked if it's worth getting 205/40 on the front and 215/40 on the rear. When I first got my car it had 225 on the rear!

I'm starting to lean towards 215 all round. Need to think about a reasonable tyre to buy now. Any suggestions?
