OK, i have a dilemma on my hands, replacing the input shaft bearings and lay shaft bearings. CBC bearings and bearings wholesales can not get a hold of the bearings via part number etched on the outer race. They suggest Honda.

now, a have a JDM D15B, with a possible JDM gearbox, i have a dismantled d15z2(breeze) carby gearbox and the bearings are not the same. For Honda to be able to get me prices and availability of the bearings they need a chassis number.

Do i have any other options instead of Honda?
Does anyone have or can give me access to a JDM EG SI chassis number?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael

Was just thinking, would the box from an eg vti be similar to the d15b box, ratios and slightly robust shafts would have to be the same?

imo get another d series box
i ventured to get replacement bearings for a d box recently , and could fine a replacement for ONE out of the 10 or so in the box.

Near the g/box filler/drain hole there should be markings B000 or A000,

eg:

^^ check this link out

they usually determine bearing sizes on d series boxs

B000 = larger bearings (d16y1/d16y8 etc)

A000 = smaller bearings (d15's and some d16's)

that could be why the bearings are different.

Nice info!, yeah the D15B box is a B000 and the carby box is a A000. well i am going to quote the gearbox part number first and see if they can get a schematic of the bearings and choose the ones i want, if not just going to quote a eg vti chassis number, go out on a limb and get the bearings.

Just fear of the same noise issue when getting a second hand box

The D15B box is non-lsd :( but thanks for the sourcing.

OK gearbox reassemble all before work this morning and just put back together and drove. never been so quiet, even in certain gears, 2nd would use to groan a bit after 2000rpm. Replaced both main shaft bearings and the top counter shaft bearing and nut as all bearing feeling bit "skateboard bearingish". Costed $168 trade price, so not so bad.

Very easy box to play with. Would recommend to all my friends

--The A000 and B000 gearbox designation system is proven reliable to me so far.--

B000 Main shaft bearing part no. are 91002ps0013-$39.86(lower) and 91004pl3b03-$90.25(upper)

A000 Main shaft bearing part no. are 91002phr003-$53.42(lower) and 91004pl3a03-$47.32(upper)

always check other bearings too. hopefully some handy info for someone.
