I'd be interested in any info you find on after market ones, everyone overseas seems to use them (I'm guessing due to cost, although I don't consider them to be overly hexxy for normally a one off service item during ownership)
you're car is basically stock or has it had any major upgrades?

The guys in the US remove the 2 outer layers on a 3 layer metal gasket and just use the middle layer BUT -

OEM ftw.
U can have a little bit shaved off the head if U want to bump up compression a bit.
