View Full Version : CV Joints
How will I know that my CV joints will need to be conditioned/replace?
Does it make noises when you start to full lock the car either left or right while moving? i.e. doing a u-turn, parking etc

When you turn the wheel full lock it will make a popp or click sound (I think it can even happen just normal turning too), try doing circles in reverse on full lock it's even louder if they are buckled :D

Oh and I remember when the cvj in my mums car was gone, you can hear a clonk noise when she'd accelerate off the line (thats in a auto 99 civic)

i had to replace my cv joints recently. just normal turning will make the clicking sound. if it clicks when u turn either way means u needa replace both cv joints. costs like around 200 to get em both relpaced. hope dat helps
yeah i had a feeling that was the method to deduce if it was the cv joints that needed replacing...
and luckly! no i dont need to get new cv joints... i just found out the reason
my front right airbag rubs against the chassis so thats where the rubbing/squeeking sound came from... now gotta figure out how to fix it
