Hey OH !

So im most proberly going to buy a DC2 VTI-R thats been through a flood
(insurance called it a write off, tried 2 drive through BIG puddle lol) dizzy is fine

Owner says all i need is Alternator + ECU, his previously borrowed alt+ecu
and test drove the car himself after flood. He said everything was fine vtec good n all. He seems genuine and very honest so thats a plus

Im surprised most electrics are fine wiring looms, dizzy ect
What should i look out for ? or what should i look out for in the future ... anyone had previous problems

With most cars, and espically 4wds running water can get through anything. Check
gear box oils,
bearings,
the main engine oil,
*check for rusting underneath the body,

The list is massive seriously lol, but if you are really in love with the car, take this car to your own mechanic and for a small fee he will go through the whole car for you. And he will present you what is damaged or what needs replacing.

It's safer, faster and better this way.

man u would want to pay almost nothing for it ... its long term value is going to be zero after that

seriously wouldnt pay more than $5k depending on year and kms on clock

if its a pre facelift i wouldnt even spend $3k on it

this might not be relevant but look for oil leaks near the dizzy and cam seals. also check if the vtec solenoid is fine and check for leaks around that area as well. check if thermostat is good.
