Well im looking at buying a dc2 in about 4 months time, and well, i really had no option other then the vtir, but then again, im kinda over the vtec buzz thing, basically i don't mind if its a vtec or not. and the car has be 1998+ and manual
PLANS:
just a jdm front, slammage, wheels and a turbo kit once im off my Ps. then i will be selling it in 1 year of ownership to get a nissan
WHAT ITS USED FOR:
just daily driven to work and school.
definately, if a nice vtir comes up, i will snap it up, but at the moment, all the vtir's arn't in a condition i want it to be, or are asking out of my budget (10k)
but if an immac. blue gsi comes up when there are no vtirs, i wouldn't mind one. ive driven a vtir, its normal, nothing special, and i heard the gsi ain't far from it in regards to performance?
what would you pick
if its a gsi like this,

but vtir in red or black. hopefully clean like this lol

just saw another vtir worth looking at, if that car is still for sale in 4 months, its mine. lol

well since your over the "buz" and gonna "turbo" it might as well get a GSI.

the vtir has better features such as abs, dual airbag , black carpet, colour coded interior....better resale value. IMO wait for a VTiR

oh doesnt the gsi have abs n dual ab? damn. probably gonna get the vtir then. safety first lol

What's the point of looking at cars/asking about current opinions when you're going to buy in FOUR MONTHS time?
4 months is a very long time, and chances are your shortlist of cars to buy will change by them.

only facelift VTIR has dual airbag .. found this out the HARD way
GSI is a pointless car imo ... may as well just get a VTIR ... they are just as cheap these days
stock wing on VTIR = gay ... so much more aggressive without it

GSI has driver's airbag and ABS.
All DC2/4 wings are crap IMO, go without - it looks mint with the 'sleek' look.
Don't know why you're going to sell it after 1 year...may as well just get the Nissan ASAP and not waste time/money modding the Integra.

Yep, very true. In wet, light weight cars such as these integras, going high speeds... you can kill yourself. These integras need the best quality tyres and brakes.

it won't.. and i know it won't. four months time isnt long, i was looking for a prelude b4 i bought mine for nearly 4 months.

yea i will remove the wing. well maybe more then a year ( 1 year till my fulls, and then a few months looking for the car), its something to drive around until i find a very mint and decent 200sx. actually it will be more like 2 years my bad. lol

I'm nearly certain GSI's come with ABS.

They do, my brother has one sitting in our garage and at first I was like 'wtf is this box...?' until I read 'ABS' on it :)

was probably an option in the Dc4 ... or it got changed with the facelift
my list of cars changed almost every month last year ... and i ended up full circle working on my little old EG lol
abs is un nessecary
I'd have to agree with this, I've had a few cars with ABS and never needed it. If you keep your distances right and pay attention to the road then you'll be right. Sure the odd incident happens where I need to brake hard - but not quite to lockup stage.

better to have it then not, never know when one day your turning and ur tyres just suddenly lock up and u crash, then u'd woulda wanted abs lol

its happened to me with both ABS (VTIR Teg) and non ABS (EG Gli) ... so i wouldnt bet ur life on it
depends entirely on the situation

still in my mind, ABS is always better then no ABS. no matter what way you say it, having it will always be better then not having it lol

I agree.
Further to this, don't bother with a turbo kit ---- that's what the Nissans 4.
If your planning on doing slight mods to your car - insted of wasting time & money save an xtra 2k within the next 4 months and buy a vtir,
the car itself is slightly modded.
Either option you choose don't bother with modding ---- once you get your Nissan you'll be throwing your cash into that.

nah i will be definately turbo'ing it. lol. im just assuming that in 1.5 years ive got a better job that will be let em maintain a nissan and things like that. but yeah, it all depends how soon i get the nissan and when i get it, but the main thing is that the vtir will be jdm front and turbo........

cuz dont bother with a gsi. inside out its uglier, chat seats and trim plus black side moulds.price diff is minor on the market either cos gsi owners are marking up and/or vtir's are all thrashed my bet is both. find a clean motor.

Honda's are way way way better for reliability and looks, but Nissans kill it for performance.

the only reliable hondas ive seen are the non-performance based ones. Most vtec hondas blow smoke, have gearbox crunching problems, driveshaft/bushing/suspension noises. If you treat a car right , it will treat your wallet right. Most Nissans run boost and that puts more pressure on the engine/driveline/suspension, and even with all that they are still pretty reliable. Run a Honda with boost and see how quicky parts/internals wear out.

I guess that's because performance Hondas are driven hard and not maintained well enough, but if you get a performance Honda and look after it the car will take a beating every day and go strong - Hondas love to breathe and be rev'd hard but to take it the next step has to cover non-driving responsibilities also such as maintenance and upgrading to suit the style.
Nissans are built to run boost whereas Hondas aren't, that's why their engine/driveline/sussy stay strong - but if you look around you'll see loads of shitted Nissans that have crapped themselves silly with bad drivers.
@ OP: Honestly, if you want a turbo just get a scooby. It's built for it and will take a dump all over any turbo Nissan/Honda in probably all aspects.
But if you want a Honda before you turbo a Nissan just don't turbo the Honda also...waste of time and money, and who knows what'll happen between now and 1.5 or 2 years? You could lose a leg in a turbo-accident :(
