View Full Version : Will an ek9 front sway bar fit ek4/gli lca's and if not will ek9 lca's fit a cxi?
Hey guys,
I have found that i cant use an ek9 front sway bar on a cxi with ek9 lca's wont fit a cxi unless i get ek9 forks, is this correct?
Also will ek9 front sway bar fit ek4/gli front control arms?
Thanks heaps lads.
Chris.
You only need the control arms (yes fits onto gli, vtir etc). The swaybars does not connect onto the forks. So use your stock ones cause it's all the same anyways..
But Lca's connect to the fork, therefore since the lca's are thicker than the fork must accodate for that?
Will the ek9 front sway fit other lca's anyway?
Not all EK chassis Civics came with sway bars - if they did this would be irrelevant. There are some EK Civic chassis donor parts that you will need to source for those Civics not equipped with factory sway bars. For the front, both EX and HX Civics came with similar LCAs that accept sway bars, while the Civic Type R and Si (EM1 SiR in Canada) have a unique style. The Civic Type R and Civic Si front sway bars only work with the Civic Type R or Si LCAs. The LCA are thicker than all other EK Civic LCAs at the strut fork, so the fork will also need to be changed out.

no disagreement. afaik you can use ek gli lca's too as they were fitted with front sway bars (?? someone confirm??)
in which case. is it possible to just drill a hole in the cxi lca's in order to fit the swaybar, if you got the specs of the origonal hole
Yeah gli had front sway, im not drilling holes lol
Just to clear this up for future searches.
I found this info:
"I am posting in order to clarify some information regarding the front swaybar swap from ek9 to all eudm eks. It has been wrongly said that ek civics apart from ek4 have the eg style fron lca which is incorrect. As fas as eudm is concerned all ek civics have the single style lca that is identical to si/sir and ek9. Therefore the 26mm ek9 swaybar will fit with out any doubt, and will be an easy installation for sure".

Hope it helps out in the future.

ek9 front lca's will fit your car without a problem. all that stuff about skinnier forks etc is because US civics came with a differnt lca design. if you're looking at compatible parts on american sites use the EM1 (99 Si) as a reference because that has the same setup as ek4/ek9
