ITB's would be the loudest following on by something like an aluminium short ram intake + a pod =]

dont you have to take the front bar off to install the injen and is it safe enough in melbourne wheater???

what about AEM V2 and Groupem? compared to the injen....:)

Injen has the risk of hydrolocking (I have an INJEN)
GruppeM Doesn't give the gains that the INJEN CAI grants but removes the risk of hydrolocking but will give similar induction noise..

IMO get an INJEN.. Youll love it

IMO Gruppe M sounds awesome. Esp when in Vtec.
Gotta love the CF as well.
Theres a few clips on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkPpFkrnUCg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gh3wvdV-X4w

Injen would be bang for buck, costing about half that of Gruppe M or Mugen,
showing gains of up to 11kw atw.
(Someone had posted dyno figures a while back showing this gain with Injen)
But atm wouldnt be the best idea to be driving round Melbourne with an Injen.

When its proven on a DYNO mate, ill believe it anyday..
Consider it has been proven on a DYNO i think you should learn to accept the facts.

Its not what I "reckon". Its what the evidence shows.
Learn to accept it.

Are dynos always accurate? I can tell you now I didn't get 11kws from a cai..

Can't always believe what you see and read my friend.. But each to their own

Most of us should understand that Dynos arent 100% accurate.
They are not the be all and end all.
But they are very useful in comparing the before and after effects of a particular mod on performance.

Heres another dyno graph showing similar gains:
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=93622

Two different cars, two different testing conditions, similar results.
Most of us would consider that evidence.
But you're more than welcome to believe whatever you want.

It took me about 1 n half to do my install.
yes u do run the risk of hydrolocking.
the pod needs to be submerged for it to hydrolock.
or drenched with a shitload of water
put it this way where im located, it pisses down rain pretty much 50% of the yr even more.
I have a mugen front bumper on my dc5 (the pod has direct contact with air and water cause i havent put mesh on the bumper)
ive driven it countless times to and from work and shit in pissing down rain and it hasnt had one hiccup.

Go CAI and get injen hydroshield for piece of mind.

How much did you gain from your cai?

How much did you gain from your cai?

i never bothered to dyno my car straight after i put a cai on ..
dont really see the point
with i/h/e i made about 101kws.
with ecu and tune made 17kws on that.
theres no point into getting into discussions about dynos.
then you also got tuners, all are different.
i just dont think 11kws from a cai is realistic.

If youre afraid of hydrolocking dont drive fully hectic through puddles on the side that the POD is exposed to...

Do this and you will be fine...
To run ITB's you will need ECU to get the most out of it, and a plenum if you want it to be legal...
just get injen GG

You'll need an aftermarket ECU to run ITB's full stop.

Basically you can do one of the following:
- Get a SRI (Short Ram Intake - K&N Typhoon) for about $150... it'll be loud... and suffer from heat sock within 15 min of driving.
- Get an Injen intake for about $350... and worry about hydrolock (Even though it'll never happen, unless you drive into a lake)
- Get a Gruppe M intake for about $1200 new (about $900 2nd hand... if you can find one)... and... well other then a few people complaining about the windscreen cowl vibrating... there are no problems with them.
- Get ITB's (Individual Throttle Bodies) and ECU for about... ohh... $3000 (If you use budget parts and are lucky in the 2nd hand market)... and spend about $1000 on getting it all tuned... but that'll give you the most noise and gains.

Surely not the DC5???

It’s too soon!

Crikey!

I knew this day would come.

The ricers have finally molested it!

Started with the Alteeza’s, then the exhausts, ignored the 20s, but now loud intakes??!!

Blow me down, I better sell soon.

45SET... Good point. Haha ;)

apart from ecu it's best to do cams as well to get them working to their potential but of course you don't have too...

What do you expect... P Platers can't buy "hektic" turbo Nissans anymore... along with the BOV... so a Honda with Vtec is the next best thing.

$350 is second hand if u can find one. For everyday use it's loud enough in WOT...If u really want to go the "loud" way; dont get an intake...get an exhaust - buddyclub perhaps (straighthru one).

I've been in a Integra with a Injen CAI, and damnnnnn that item makes the vtec scream. That's why I'm buying one,

I can't wait, power gains are like 11kw+ they say.

Yeah but be careful, with that added amount of power, you might leave your rear wheels behind.
