just out of curiosity, where is the bleed nut for the cooling system in the FD civics??

have a look through your owners manual and you might be able to find where it is located

i already tried the manual, no luck though.
it doesnt say anything about changing coolant, only how to top up via the reserve tank

ok, doesnt mention anything about a bleeder bolt, i'd assume there isnt one then

There isn't one. You turn your heater to max hot, then let your engine warm up to operating temperature with the radiator cap half closed. Top up as required. Keep running the engine and checking the coolant in the radiator by taking off the cap (ONLY if you had the cap on half closed. If it was fully closed, don't open it as coolant will spray out). Once there are no more bubbles, then you're all set.
