Hey
just about to chuck a b16a in my car..
which headers would be "better"...
jdm itr headers (4-1 i believe ??) or a good set of 4-2-1 ??
with the itr headers would i lose even more bottom power ?? since the b16 is fairly torqueless already...
anyone have any experience with either and which would be best suited

thanks in advance

Be careful with 4-1's with the ride height of your car

hahah. there is no one model that is good. each has its own characteristic to your car gearing ratios and your desired peak performance. you cant have all peak performance across the rpm band width.

You may try toda header. This header always has good comments.

TODA header is exceptional but premium price !!

mid/low range price i'd get the ITR 4-1..

el-cheapo.. just get stainless 4-1..

4-2-1 isnt going to make MORE power down low, it just has better scavenging ability for low RPM. the 4-1 will just rev straight though the low-RPM and get to the high RPM faster which IMO is what you want for a civic with B16A.

if you want low-down torque, get a B18 or B20.. otherwise squeeze all the HP out of your B16A's top end.

I mean "low-down torque" is completely useless - when dragging the B16A shouldnt drop out of VTEC range (5500RPM+) and even on motorkhana racing, you seldom drop below 4000RPM so LOW-DOWN is not happening.

integra with b16a hehehe

and the only reason i want a bit of extra bottom end is for the quicker take off
but then again i guess ur right about hardly being in the bottom end anyway

so itr it is....
now the question is will they be too low

man if you have an ls why not just put a vtec head on your current engine? It works out similar to a b20 vtec, correct me if wrong

I made 10HP @ Wheels with a 4-1 header.
I cant see why you wouldnt.

1. my current engine has done too many kms (332000)
2. i cant have my car off the road for that long
3. then ill have to pay someone to do it lol

Hey those 4-1 on this site for $450, do you think they would ride too low on a EK4? Cos i just put my name down for one

for street and sometimes circuit use... i'd say 4-2-1 1pc.

4-1 for drag is good... thats all i can say
