Hey guys I've already done a search on this however nothing is coming up similar to my problem. There's a knocking noise on the timing belt side of the engine that started happening last night. I did give it a little about 10 minutes beforehand however I don't think that's the problem because I've done that a few times with no problems. The timing belt is due for a change as the engine is getting to the 100k mark. It's a jap spec b18cr if that helps. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Isn't the knocking noise you're talking about the engine cooling down?

We had a listen today.. i thought it could be a baring as in tensioner or water pump but it wasnt that notisable at the time.. but then it might be something to do with the oil.. he is using a 0 weight oil full synthetic Royal purple... so i was thinking could it be something to do with the lifters or somewhere in here....

its not a knocking... more to be a very light taping.....

Not a damaged/worn engine mount? Or gearbox mount?

Nah it feels like its coming from the timing belt area if I put my hand on the timing belt cover I can clearly feel the knocking through it so it has to be something in there
