Hey

Pretty sure the steering rack on my EM1 is on its last legs. Does anyone know if they can be fixed or prices of a new one?

Cant use a second hand steering rack from another honda at all can I? I have heard prices upwards of $1200 :thumbdwn:

I am also interested in this, ive been told my rack and pinion is worn. So im assuming its the same thing yeah??
Could this be affecting my turning cirlce too, cause its not the 9.8m its sposed to be?

racks are repairable, to do it properly it wont be cheap though.
there is no reson why you cant use a 2nd hand rack.

So I would just be using a second hand rack from a b16a2? or does it have to be from an em1 specifically? :)

chances are you have to use a EM rack but I dont see why a EK wont do the job.

Ok rechecked my problem, it was my tie rod .. not my actual rack.. i heard these are $20/30 brand new from pedders? can anyone confirm?
I can get a second hand eg one for $20 as well .. which would be the better option..

I found out my problem too..

Its only the part that controls the toe in/out of the steering wheel, it's bent.

Can these be repaired?

yes they can, but still require the rack to be removed. Im takling about arm coming out of the rack that connects to the tie rod end.
