head unit 7th gen Civic VI

Hi,

Does anyone know or have information regarding how to remove the head unit from 2001 Civic Vi hatch? I couldn't find any info at all, not even the wiring diagram.

U mean like just disconnecting it? or actualy dismantling the housing around it and shit on the dash?

you first have to unwind the gear knob off.

then take the whole gear boot, cig. lighter emergency light part off next.

inside you will find 2 screws at the very back on both the left and right sides, you will need to take them out in order to remove the climate control console out. there might be more, im unsure cos mine were all gone when i bought my vi.

if you have an 02-03 civic vi, you're vent and temp controls are by cables so be careful when you try to rip the console out, you might break something in the process. if you have the new one, should be fine just remember to disconnect the clips when you can.

then you should be able to take it from there. if you have the older vi, pm me and ill tell you where you can find the cables that control your temp and vents so you can disconnect them first before trying to rip the centre console out. it's what i do now, i've broken one of the controls and was a bitch trying to glue it or find a replacement for it.

Awesomeness! Thanks for all the info, the only other stuff I found was a small clip on yt that didn't really help.... I have the 2002 vi, so should be sweet to disconnect the lines.

Found some good tutorials on door speakers too. All set, just need to find some money now....
