The ECU is below the Glove box compartment, have a look and if it has a USB "B" type socket then it has a Hondata K-Pro. It sounds to me that your car is not hitting Vtec and doesnt have a rev-limiter.
Did you just recently purchased the car like this?

yeah sounds like its not engaging vtec properly and cutting out or sumthing like that.

Best thing is to take it to a mechanic man

Hi people, i have a dc5r and i think its hondata-ed i'm not sure is there any ways to check if it is?

As stated, look at the ecu itself.....(see below)

HONDATA products generally have their stickers and/or red ecu lid. If not you'll need to physically remove the ecu.

If this is where your car is revving to, then you have problems! Take it to a mechanic!

Correct, you can/should be able to see the usb port from underneath the glove box after remove the under dash cover thing. Having said that a K100 does not have a socket.

BTW.....what makes you think you have a Hondata? Just curious??

Ok it does rev over 5500 but when its in neutral it goes to 5400 to 5500

is the handbrake up when this happens.

if it does then its prob a launch control.

btw if u have hondata look for the USB hole that generally tells u thats its an aftermarket ecu

thats normal.

the dc5r will not rev above 5500 when stationary because there is no reason to.

its to stop idiots from red lining the engine in neutral...

it is not launch control, if you launch at 5500 the only thing you are gonna get is a faceful of wheeeeeelllsppinnnnnnnnnnnnn

thank you for your behemoth picture too. resize. la.

Yup, as above Stock DC5R's won't let you rev above the vtec engagement point when stationary. Doesn't mean you have an aftermarket ECU.

The RPM is limited when you are stationary or when the engine is cold.
