Odd knocking sound

ok guys, so few days ago I noticed my 1995 Civic GLi (stock), has started to knock.

At first I thought engine as I have advanced timing, but that was all good.. But today I noticed that the knocking only happens when the car is in neutral and clutch is not pressed, when clutch is pressed the knocking slowly fades out and sounds similar to when you stop a small fan with your finger (whining - slowing down sound)..

I have also been experiencing take off shudder from ages ago, but ignored that and just put it down to my driving :confused: lol.. Google says that this problem might be caused by the throw out bearing..

Anyone ever experienced this problem at all??

yep throw out bearing will need a new clutch too

Thought so bud, any idea of average cost of another gear box (assume it has good clutch)??

What is a good gearbox to swap in instead of standard d15b7 one??
