Hi all,
I'm looking to get some DC5 coilovers put onto my EU civic. I've been told that to make this possible, I would require the tie rod ends. Will I require the tie rods as well, or just the ends? Also, will the DC5 brakes and 5 studs fit directly onto the civic? What parts will I require for this conversion to be complete?
Thanks for any info received.

i read a couple of the posts about dc5 coilovers on 7th gen civics. they mention things about different strut sizes saying that pre 04-05, the strut sizes are 50mm instead of 55mm, and the knuckle sizes are 14mm instead of 16mm? i don't understand, does this mean the strut thickness and the bolt sizes are different between the year of the car within the same generation?

To install DC5 coilovers on a 7th gen you need the DC5 tie rod ends for the front only I believe.
01-02 models use the 14mm bolt sizes, and 03-05 use the 16mm bolt sizes. Note that this means the production year (i.e. the year the car was built in). So if your car is 2002 and made for 2003, then it is still the 14mm bolt size. The strut sizes should also be 50mm and 55mm respectively.
When installing the DC5 coilovers you'll find that you will need to "shave" off a bit of the bottom of the strut to make it fit as they're just a tiny bit bigger than the ones made for Civics.
Other than that you should have no problems using DC5 coilovers :)

Why not just opt for ep3R parts.
The ep is more similar to the eu than the dc5.

Ok, so my car is an 02 model, I can only use coilovers from an 01-03 dc5r and no later? if say, the strut size has a difference of 5mm, they are unable to make modifications for it to fit? some of the terminology they use to describe some things are a bit unknown, like knuckles etc. these are unfamiliar to me as i have no mechanical background, so it all gets a little confusing. thanks for your help noddi.

well, my bro installed dc5 coilovers on the ep3 so i thought i could do the same and i see a lot of the coilovers that are sold on here, or other sites are mainly for dc5. so the ep3's and civics make their own changes to make them fit, i'll have to double check the sizes on the coilovers i plan to use. thanks again!
