Okay heres the story,
my mate recently purchased a Civic EK4, though his bottom block has gone~ dunno what happened. ( im no mechanic)

Anyways was wondering how much it would cost to replace the bottom block including labour?

thanks in advance for input~:)

there may be a chance that the head is also damaged depending on what "gone" ends up actually being

if you guys dont know a mechnic that can do a tear down and diagnosis it would be very difficult to give you an idea if cost or extent of work... generally if you have bottom end damage it means the engine has either had a hard, or long life... might be more economical to replace with a second hand unit... or, if the money is available do a full rebuild only if you are going to keep the car for a while IMO

The thing is, he purchased the car, and had'nt even had it for an hour, when this happend.
Seller didnt wanna hear about it...im not sure how that works.

He got it checked out and was told he needed bottom end, the head was fine according to the mechanic...

The engine had only done 100xxx ks
with log books to prove =/

wow, thats a shame eh?

tear down, and reassembly is a labour intensive proposition unless you have a mate as a mechanic who can do you mates rate. The benefit of paying that labour is that you know the bottom end is done... as long as its done by a reputable mechnic you wont have a problem for a few hundred thousand km's as long as its serviced appropriately
